Outside Randomness

If I haven't mentioned it before... I love our yard. I love everything about it; being outside,
looking outside, Peyton's playhouse, parking sleeping babies in the yard after a long walk, etc.

Every morning I look at my vegetables to see how much they've grown (overnight, gay I know). Every afternoon I force Peyton outside, whether she likes it or not.

So, after 2 years in Ladera Ranch without a yard... we are really taking advantage of it now. Can you tell?

The Great Outdoors of Newport

Who would have thought that our morning ritual included a squirel?

The girls LOVE watching this squirel visit us each morning (so do I). Peyton has named him "Eeharla." (E-AIR-LA) Have you noticed that her terms of endearment all end in an "a." "Aleeza" her imaginary friend, "Little Worma" her pet worm, and "Rocky" her pet rock (rule does not apply). Brett affectionately calls the squirel "Brad," but I think that is a joke that I don't get. See Kristin, you don't need to move to North Carolina, we have all the nature you need right here in Newps.

"Let's Play Teresa and Liz"

Leave it to a 4 year old to summarize your life for you...

Peyton: "Let's Play Teresa and Liz. You be Liz, I'll be Teresa"

Me: "What do Teresa and Liz do?"

Peyton: "Well they go shopping. Go to baby showers with kids. They go to dinner with the adults like Robert and Brett."

Sounds pretty good to me.

Something to Blog About

"I'm 4 years old!"
The days really do last forever, but the years fly by. I cried putting her to bed the night before, "Peyton, I just don't want you to get older." As she cuddles my head to her chest and strokes my hair, "It's okay mom, I'm gonna grow up but Reese will still be a kid." So true Peyton, so true.

But, what a Happy Birthday it was. The sun never came out for the swim "mermaid" party, but that didn't seem to bother anybody under the age of 5. Watching P and her buddies talk, play, laugh really IS the sweetest thing. And then when it's time for bed... "It was a great day, mom. I loved my mermaid party." As my friend Erin would say, "Now that's something to blog about."
